Supervision is a vital part of our work as therapists. It’s often the only space where we can speak openly about our practice, held within a trusted and supportive relationship.
The supervision space provides room to reflect deeply — on our clients and their ‘being in the world’, in relation to the physical, social, personal, and spiritual dimensions of human existence. We can think about how we work: how we form and hold the therapeutic relationship, how we make decisions around interventions, how we navigate the unfolding process of therapy over time.
We can explore beginnings and endings, contracting and re-contracting, and how to remain grounded when uncertainty, challenge, or doubt arise. We can bring our mistakes, our questions, and our internal responses — to seek greater clarity and deeper understanding of our work and of ourselves as therapists.
There are times in every therapist’s journey when we struggle, question, or feel unsettled. The right supervisory relationship can offer steadiness, perspective, and a place to think things through — including how to handle difficult, awkward, or ethically complex situations. With the support of a thoughtful supervisor, we become more resourced and resilient in our work.
My aim as a supervisor is to build a strong, collaborative relationship — one that supports both you and your clients. A space where support and challenge can sit side by side; where confidence and vulnerability are both welcome.
I trained in person-centred, integrative arts, and existential psychotherapy, completing my clinical training in 2006. Currently, I run a busy private practice in London (SE1), Guildford (Surrey), and online. I work with both trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.
I offer in person (in the room or outdoors) or online supervision to reflect your experience and needs.
In supervision with me, you can expect:
A reflective space to explore your practice and process your emotional responses
A supportive and honest dialogue around clinical dilemmas and challenges
Guidance and encouragement in building your practice and meeting ethical/professional standards
Resources and ideas for ongoing learning, development, and self-care
Alongside my therapeutic work, I bring over 20 years’ experience in mentoring, academic, and research supervision from my work at Lancaster University Management School.
Walking supervision is a space where we bring the body into the process — moving together through the outdoors as we reflect on your work as a therapist.
This approach grew organically from my own practice. I walk daily — alone and with others — sometimes to think, sometimes just to be. Movement helps me process, reflect, find insight or simply breathe. From this rhythm came a desire to offer supervision beyond the confines of the therapy room — into a more spacious, embodied, and natural environment.
Walking supervision can offer something different:
A shift in energy and perspective
Time in fresh air, in motion, away from screens
A dialogue not only between us, but with the living environment
Space to breathe, pause, and reconnect
Metaphors and meaning drawn from the natural world — cycles of change, grounding, stillness, and growth
Drawing inspiration from Rebecca Solnit’s Wanderlust, Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects, Claire Loussouarn’s How to be Feral, Annabel Street’s 52 Ways to Walk.
Most of our sessions will take place online or in-person indoors. Walking supervision is offered occasionally — perhaps once or twice a year, or when the moment feels right — as part of our ongoing supervisory relationship.
We agree on a location that feels safe, quiet, and appropriate for confidential conversation
We plan ahead to allow time for arrival, check-in, walking and talking, and time to close
We move at a pace that suits the conversation and the space
Afterwards, we reflect together on what the experience offered
I am trained in nature facilitation, ecopsychology, and Joanna Macy’s The Work That Reconnects. This work is not about performance or hiking — it’s about creating space for presence, relationship, and reflection in a different way.
If this resonates with you, I’d be happy to have a conversation about how we might walk together.
