Living the Questions

Counselling, Psychotherapy & Supervision

"Pathmaker, your footsteps are the path and nothing more; pathmaker, there is no path, you make the path by walking"

Antonio Machado (tr. Robert Bly)

My approach is shaped as much by my own experience of being human as by my professional training.
I am creative, curious, reflective, and sometimes restless — drawn to walking, writing and wandering as ways of making sense of life. I have always been fascinated by the big questions: how we find meaning, how we live with loss, how we navigate the contradictions of being human.
As a psychotherapist, I am described as thoughtful, compassionate, and willing to stay with the difficult or the uncertain. I value honesty, depth, and the courage it takes to bring our whole selves into relationship.
My path into psychotherapy has been shaped by my own lived experience — navigating family, loss, identity, and the search for belonging. Alongside my personal journey, I’ve worked as a pattern cutter and maker in the fashion industry, as a teacher and researcher in further and higher education, and internationally leading projects with a health charity. These experiences, across very different worlds, have given me a deep respect for diversity, complexity, and the resilience of the human spirit.
I trained in existential, person-centred and integrative arts psychotherapy, and I continue to learn and develop through my own individual and peer supervision and self enquiry. Over time, my work has been enriched by movement and embodied practices, nature-based perspectives, and creative approaches such as poetry and the arts.
