Pathmaker, your footsteps
are the path and nothing more;
pathmaker, there is no path,
you make the path by walking.
Antonio Machado (translated by Robert Bly).
I’m an ‘integrative therapist’ – for me that reflects my curiosity about the human condition and the many different ways to make sense of this. I draw on a range of ideas in my work with clients including:
existential-phenomenological inquiry; integrative arts and person centred psychotherapy;
eco psychology – exploring the ecological self and landscapes – nature based therapy
I completed a Certificate in Clinical Supervision (Metanoia) 2021
I trained as a facilitator of Joanna Macy’s The Work that Reconnects in 2016
MA Existential Psychotherapy & Counselling @ Sheffield University 2009
Certificate Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Arts/ Certificate Person Centered Counselling
CRUSE Bereavement Care Training
MA Management and Organisational Learning @ Lancaster University in 1997
My experience has been gained through navigating my own family & life, a significant investment in personal therapy & self inquiry; working with a range of organisational/professional environments – including a series of bereavement charities; an NHS neuro-rehabilitation service and student counselling services. I have been in private practice since 2009.
In addition to working in private practice, I also work with internationally with a global health charity and on international post graduate programmes in higher education. I have been privileged to visit west Africa and to work with colleagues from a number of countries in the region.
