You may have questions about my training, experience and the way I work which I will do my best to answer – I try to work in a transparent way.
I am an experienced and effective psychotherapist, registered with the United Kingdom Council for Counselling & Psychotherapy (UKCP). I abide by their Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct.
I’m an ‘integrative therapist’ – for me that reflects my curiosity about the human condition and the many different ways to make sense of this. I draw on a range of ideas in my work with clients including existential-phenomenological inquiry; integrative arts and person centred psychotherapy.
I have undertaken the following formal training in addition to many other professional development activities.
- Online Course – Neurobiology and its Applications to Psychotherapy
- MA Existential Psychotherapy & Counselling
- Certificate Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Arts
- Certificate Person Centered Counselling
- Transactional Analysis 101 (EATA)
- CRUSE Bereavement Care Programme
- MA Management and Organisational Learning
I have experience of working as a counsellor with CRUSE and Kingston Bereavement Service and with an NHS neuro-rehabilitation service. I have also worked with the student counselling service at Portsmouth University. I have been working in private practice since 2009.
In addition to working in private practice, I also work with voluntary and public sector organisations supporting personal and professional development programmes. I specialise in-group facilitation for conflict resolution, team building, reflective practice and action learning.
